Post 1 – Setup and Roles

During the production of our film, we filmed mostly at a house location, using both indoor and outdoor areas to match the story. I worked closely with my group, where everyone had distinct roles, but I focused on directing and helping guide the actors. My job was to make sure scenes matched our plan and that the actors understood how to perform each moment.

Setting up each scene took time, specially making sure the camera angles looked good and the shots made sense. We used basic equipment like a phone camera and natural lighting, which made us think more creatively about how to position shots. One challenge during setup was making sure everything stayed consistent between takes, especially during the montage scenes.

Overall, this part of the process helped me understand how important planning and teamwork are. Without clear roles and communication, it would have been much harder to film smoothly.

Post 2 – Challenges and Filming Experience

One of the biggest challenges during filming was working with the actors and making sure they were comfortable performing certain scenes. For example, convincing one actor to sing at the beginning took time because they felt awkward. I had to explain the purpose of the scene and reassure them that it was meant to be funny and not perfect.

Another challenge was filming outside at night. It was cold, and not everyone wanted to stay outside for long. To deal with this, we stayed organized and worked quickly so we could finish the scene efficiently. Even though it was uncomfortable, filming at night helped create a much better horror atmosphere.

Despite these challenges, filming was also fun. Seeing the scenes come together and watching the actors bring the characters to life made the experience enjoyable. It felt rewarding to turn our ideas into something real.

Post 3 – Results and Improvements

In total, filming took several hours across different scenes, especially because we had to redo some shots to get them right. I was happy with the result, especially how the comedy and horror elements worked together. The added suspense earlier in the film made the ending more effective.

However, if I could do it again, I would improve a few things. I would spend more time planning camera shots in advance so filming could go faster. I would also try to improve sound quality, since some scenes could be clearer. Additionally, I would make sure everyone was fully prepared before filming to avoid delays.

Overall, this project helped me learn a lot about filmmaking, especially about teamwork, planning, and problem-solving. It showed me how minor changes can make a notable difference in the final product.
