  Set design 

 

The set design appears naturalistic and realistic. The backyard setting includes a wooden fence, potted plants, a hammock, and a concrete walkway, which helps create a casual, everyday suburban atmosphere. The props (plants, pots, hammock) make the space feel lived-in and believable rather than staged. The layout also provides depth in the frame, with foreground (grass), midground (characters), and background (fence and plants), showing thoughtful visual composition. 

 

 Costume/wardrobe, 

 The costumes are casual and age-appropriate, helping establish the characters as teenagers in a relaxed environment 

Wills outfit   character wears a bright red athletic shirt and shorts, which makes him stand out visually and could suggest confidence or energy. 

 

John outfit 

 The other wears a darker, more neutral outfit, which may reflect a quieter or more reserved personality. Everyday clothing enhances realism and makes the scene relatable to the target audience.

  Changes   to   project   and  why During the development of the film, several changes were made to both the plan and the script  to  improve the story, pacing, and tension. In the  initial  plan , the film focused mostly on comedy, with the horror element only appearing at the very end when the main character is attacked by the stalker. While this idea  established  the basic plot, it did not create much suspense throughout the film. Because of this, the plan was adjusted to introduce horror elements earlier while  keeping  the comedic tone between the two main characters. One of the main changes in the  final plan  was increasing the amount of comedy between John and Will. Genre research part 2

  Scream- 1    The  opening scene of Scream (1996), directed by Wes Craven,  immediately   establishes  the conventions of the horror/slasher genre while also challenging them. The film opens with  a seemingly ordinary  teenage girl, Casey Becker (played by Drew Barrymore), alone in her suburban home, which quickly becomes the setting for suspense and terror.     Camera Shots, Angles, Movements, Focus, and Framing     The scene uses a mixture of medium shots and close-ups to create intimacy and tension. At first, medium shots of Casey in her kitchen  establish  a normal, safe environment. As the phone calls become threatening, the camera shifts to tighter close-ups,  especially  Casey’s face, emphasizing her fear and vulnerability.  Shallow  focus is used to blur the background, isolating her and suggesting danger may be lurking out of sight.   Location scouting   The chosen location works well because it is quiet, private, and easy to control for filming. A backyard is practical for production as it limits background noise and interruptions.  The natural  lighting  gives  the team  a general time to meet and record   likely planned  to shoot during the day to avoid needing complex lighting equipment. The fence and enclosed space also frame the characters nicely, making the setting visually contained and focused.
